Starting points.
The rest is entirely yours.
There is no right way to build. These are just ideas from people who have dropped the marble many times. Take what's useful. Ignore the rest. Build something we haven't thought of.
Three steps. Infinite possibilities.
Stack blocks any way you like. There is no wrong configuration. Drop the marble and see what happens.
Watch where the marble goes. Notice what worked. Notice what didn't. Both are useful.
Make it faster, slower, or take a different path. One change at a time. That's how you figure things out.
That's it. That's the whole method.
Builds to get you going.
Try one of these to begin. Or don't — and build something entirely your own. Either works.
Stack three blocks in a descending line. Drop the marble from the top. Watch how height determines how far it travels.
Build the longest possible path using every block you have. How far can you make the marble travel before it stops?
Build two separate paths at different heights that eventually meet. The marble should travel across both levels before reaching the end.
Build a path where the marble travels as slowly as possible without stopping. How do you control momentum? This one takes patience.
Build a run where the marble disappears from view for at least three blocks before it reappears. Where it comes out should surprise even the builder.
Use every single block. The marble must travel through all of them. No block can be skipped. This requires real spatial planning before a single block is placed.
Gravity is your engine. Height is your fuel. Momentum carries it forward. Friction is what you're working against. When something doesn't work — you know where to look.
